The 10th Lux Style Awards 2011 were held in Expo center Karachi last night with awards presented in Fashion, Music, television & entertainment categories.  

A night full of glamour & style, Lux style awards now have become the most prestigious awards of Pakistan aswell as most hyped up social event of the entertainment industry.

The show started with the National Anthem. The main hosts were former VJMahira Khan, BOL famed actress, Her MTV VJ partner Faizan Haque, and the guys from BNN (Banana News Network). The show was rocked by the stage performances from HSY & Reema, Aaminah Haque & Ammar Belal, Aamina Sheikh, Meera, Mathira, Ahsan Khan and Many More. Reema & HSY danced to the tune of Reema’s latest Movie track “Love Mein Ghum”.

This year’s Lux Style Awards also paid tribute to legendary actor Moin Akhtar who passed away recently.

The most hyped up event in Lux Style awards is not just the winners of the awards but the red carpet event that shows the glamour of these shining stars. This year the red carpet was hosted byMathira, dressed in a costume designed by Shehla Chatoor. Fashion Icon Frieha Altaf was dressed in a gown, stunning creating of Fahad Hussayn. Model Amna Ilyas won best dressed female at Red Carpet after wearing a beautiful blue dress designed by Fahad Hussayn. Aamina Sheikh as well wore Fahad Hussayn’s backless black gown.

Meera was spotted in white & Silver sari, while Mahira Khan was in elegant Deepak Perwani creation. Bushra Ansari endorsed creation by Umar Sayeed, a maroon top with a choridar pajama. Celebrities Sahira Kazmi and Savera Nadeem wore Sana Safinaz outfits. While Anoushey Ashraf was in Sanam Chaudhri’s Creation, A perfect blend of east and west. Model Ayyan came in Sonya Battla‘s black gown.

With many more celebrities shining & sparkling the red carpet, Lux Style Awards 2011 was a huge success and showed how far Pakistan is now in the fashion industry with as many as 10 categories of awards in fashion. Here is the list of the Winners of 10th Lux Style Awards 2011.

SALMAN AND KATRINA IN DUBLIN

Salman Khan looked suave, dressed formally in a navy blue coat over grey trousers while shooting with Katrina Kaif for director Kabir Khan’s film Ek Tha Tiger at the Trinity College Dublin in the Irish capital. 

The shoot was held on the college campus and had Katrina walking along with a bicycle. Salman joins her and the two take a stroll down the campus. 

In the movie, Salman Khan plays a special agent of Indian intelligence services. He is codenamed Tiger. He is sent on an important mission to track down a scientist who is suspected of selling a dangerous missile technology to the terrorists. Katrina Kaif plays a dance student who is also the caretaker of the aforementioned scientist. To get close to the scientist, the agent befriends Katrina and the two fall for each other.

Salman was his usual handsome self. There was no trace of surgery or any pain on him.

Salman Khan’s secret girlfriend - a Romanian blonde?

This pretty Romanian news anchor is rumoured to be Salman Khan’s secret girlfriend...Do you like the match?

SALMAN’S ROMANIAN ROMANCE?

Salman Khan seems to have learnt how to keep secrets from the fourth estate. The superstar is now linked with a pretty Romanian news presenter Iulia Vantur, who has visited India twice and admits to have befriended Salman. 

A Romanian magazine has let the cat out of the bag by claiming that Iulia and Salman have been in constant touch ever since they met. 

Iulia is a great lover of the book ‘Eat Pray Love’ and while tracing the journey of the book’s protagonist, she first landed in Mumbai with her boyfriend Marius Moga, who, being a musician, knew a couple of Bollywood producers. It’s through them that Iulia first met Salman.

During this trip, Iulia was smitten by India and she visited a lot of holy places.

Iulia’s second trip to India, in the summers this year, came after she broke up with her boyfriend. This time she stayed for about a month and a half and became quite close to Salman.

The Romanian magazine Ciao quotes Iulia as saying: “My luck was that in that period the final scenes of the latest box office success movie, Bodyguard, were being filmed with actors like Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Hazel Keech, actors that are adored by the Indian public and whom I had met previously during my first visit to India, with whom I became friends.”

Iulia is also touched by Salman’s secular nature and his insistence on respect for all religions. The magazine also said that Iulia and Salman talk on daily basis on BBM.
